Power Stage deemed a fitting climax to the weekend

Written by ZhaustAdmin Friday, 25 May 2012 13:03

The Barbados Rally Club (BRC) has confirmed its plans to create a fitting climax to the 2012 running of the Caribbean's biggest annual motor sport International, with the island's first-ever 'Power Stage' at the end of Sol Rally Barbados and a return to the traditional post-event social.

The fastest driver in each class on the Power Stage will win a case of Banks beer, while the top three local finishers will also earn bonus points towards the Virgin Atlantic BRC Class Championship, on the scale three-two-one. Given sufficient time, the organisers also hope to reverse the Top 20. Last Updated ( Friday, 25 May 2012 13:06 ) Read more...

SOL Rally B'dos Entries and 2012 Developments

New for 2012

+ Sol Go Further/Scotiabank King of the Hill is the new title for the important 'shakedown' and seeding event the weekend before Sol RB12; it acknowledges a new Sol concept and the introduction of a new associate sponsor to the event

+ 'Rally Central', the workshop for overseas crews which do not already enjoy a working relationship with friends or businesses in the island, has moved to the former Motor Services premises in Fontabelle. As before, it will provide secure storage, access to knowledgeable local engineers, and vital infrastructure, particularly for first-timers

+ class trophies in Sol RB12 will only be awarded to crews who record an overall finish. The Barbados Rally Club 'two-thirds' rule will remain in place, however, for the calculation of Virgin Atlantic BRC Championship points, and local drivers will not 'lose' points to overseas visitors
